Jonathan E. McMeen was born and raised in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. After graduating from Mountain Lakes High School in 1995, he started a landscaping contracting business that provided full landscape services for homeowners in his community. While attending Lafayette College in Easton, PA, Jon continued to build up his business and accumulate many satisfied customers in the Morris County area.

          Jon graduated from Lafayette College in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Shortly thereafter, he was accepted to the Quinnipiac School of Law in Hamden, CT. It was truly the great financial success of Jon’s contracting company that gave him the opportunity to successfully attend and graduate from law school. Jon even maintained his company while attending law school. In 2003, Jon passed the New Jersey State Bar Exam. After a short stint in the corporate world, Jon returned to his landscape company, with an emphasis on expansion into new markets in the state. Jon ran his landscaping company during the spring, summer and fall seasons while practicing law during the winters for the past 3 years. This allowed him to balance his interests in both law and business.

Currently, Jon is fully devoting his time to the practice of law. Through his own business experiences, he has developed a keen interest in aspects of the law that directly affect small and mid-sized business entities as well individuals. As a former business owner, Jon has had substantial experience in tailoring projects to meet the needs and desires of his clients, negotiating contracts with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors, and resolving disputes that occasionally arose between his company and a client. Jon’s hands-on involvement in the landscape contracting industry provided him with skills that would be of great value to small businesses as well as individuals seeking legal advice on a broad range of legal matters.
